SERVICES - WiFi

Wireless interconnecting between electronic devices.

This is one way to define what WiFi is, of course most people simply identify with WiFi as a wireless internet or network connection.  WiFi uses radio waves to allow electronic devices to exchange data and connect to the internet.
Where once a desktop computer was the only internet connected peice of equipment, there are now a multitude of devices that connect on a network and to the internet... wirelessly. These devices include smart phones, tablets, laptops & notebook computers, printers, IP cameras, game systems, TV's,  Blu-ray players, stereo systems, media players, washing machines & dryers, refrigerators, thermostats, light bulbs and much more.
There are always more and more inventive devices coming to market that use WiFi.

Perhaps your excited for the future connectivity of everything and want to embrace the technology, adding network devices to your home or business and strengthening the WiFi network that they use.
Of course you may just want to keep it simple and have a fast and reliable network for just a few devices to connect.

Improve your WiFi.

Your existing network may be strong in some areas and weak in others, or it might not be as fast and reliable as you would like.   There are choices for making it better, such as upgrading your router to a faster one with better wireless range.
Perhaps your router is good, but the wireless signal is slow or non-existent in certain areas. This is from many forms of interference that block radio waves or maybe the area you would like WiFi in is just too far from your existing router.
Extending the reach of your wireless signal can be achieved using a few different methods and devices that include repeating or extending the signal to expand your wireless network range or to add another access point (AP) via a wired connection that can broadcast a new WiFi signal for the area, including outdoors.

Offer a guest network.

Implement a "guest" network for convenience and security.   Your existing router may have a guest network feature built in or an additional access point or router can be added to achieve this.  This means you can have an internet connection for guests that has a different password and that won't allow access to printers, devices or files on your main network.

Add connections to other areas.

You have some electronics in other areas that use a wired connection or maybe your would prefer a wired connection for speed, reliability and security.   Installing category (Cat5e/6) cable to these locations would be the best way to achieve this, of course it's not the only way to get a wired or virtual wired connection to these devices.
A wireless bridge could be established using a device that catches your existing WiFi and supplies wired ports for multiple wired network devices.
Other available options are Mesh WiFi technology to extend the signal or a technology called MoCA (Multimedia over Coax) that uses existing coaxial cable (think: cable TV lines) to get internet around your home.  If you have Verizon FiOS you already have a MoCA network in you home.
